Julia Childs Heyl is a healing advocate, writer, and social worker based in Los Angeles, CA. Honing in on the generational resilience and wellness of black individuals, Julia works to celebrate narratives of black folks while striving towards a vision of racial equity.
Combining her undergraduate UCLA training in writing and African-American literature, intersectional knowledge acquired from her graduate social work education, half a decade of experience as a marketing strategist, and years as an agency-represented model, she prides herself of producing a vision of healing in every project she touches. Her most recent endeavors include copywriting and cultural sensitivity consulting for marketing clients, facilitating individual and group therapy with an emphasis on Black mental health, crafting stories centering black wellness, and formal research and conference presentations within the realm of academia.
